How It All Began
Our journey with dogs began in 2009, long before R&J Labradors of Arizona became what it is today. What started as a passion for raising and breeding dogs grew into years of hands-on experience, learning, and a deeper appreciation for the responsibility that comes with bringing puppies into the world.
Along the way, I earned a certification in dog behavior training, further developing my understanding of canine behavior, communication, and early development. This knowledge plays an important role in how we raise our puppies, helping us provide thoughtful socialization, positive early experiences, and a strong foundation for life with their future families.
In 2022, we decided to focus our breeding program on Labrador Retrievers. We were drawn to their loyalty, intelligence, eagerness to please, and remarkable ability to be both enthusiastic outdoor companions and gentle, affectionate family members.
Today, Duke and Koa are more than the foundation of our breeding program. They're cherished members of our family, each with a unique personality that reminds us why we love Labradors so much.
We intentionally keep our program small, planning just one litter each year. Raising our puppies in our home allows us to devote individual attention to their care, development, and early experiences.
For us, breeding Labradors isn't simply about producing puppies. It's about combining years of experience, an understanding of canine behavior, and a genuine love for the breed to help each puppy get the best possible start in life.
What We Stand For
Health First
We believe exceptional Labradors begin with responsible breeding practices. Our breeding program emphasizes comprehensive health and genetic testing, including OFA and/or PennHIP evaluations, to help produce healthy puppies with the best possible start in life.
Raised Underfoot
Our puppies are born and raised inside our home — not in a kennel or barn. They are handled daily from birth and exposed to household sounds, children, and other animals.
Lifetime Support
When you adopt a puppy from us, you gain a breeder for life. We are always available to answer questions, offer advice, and celebrate milestones with your family.
AKC Standards & Distinguished Bloodlines
Our AKC-registered Labradors come from carefully selected bloodlines featuring Champions and Grand Champions. We strive to preserve the Labrador's classic appearance, sound structure, natural retrieving ability, and exceptional family temperament.
